Dear Friends,
As the calendar year comes to an end and the Chabad Jewish Community Center of Riverside celebrates its ninth year, I would like to share my gratitude for your friendship and commitment to its success. It is deeply appreciated and gives us more reason to look forward to the fresh beginnings of a new year and the promise and potential 2014 offers.

The support and generosity of friends like you have helped make the Chabad Jewish Community Center an open and inviting place for people of all backgrounds and affiliations. Without that help, we could not provide the many programs that benefit the community on the scale that we do.

As 2013 draws to an end, I am happy to report that we have been able to increase our programs 100 percent! Some of the appearances and presentations of this past year included:

• Eva Schloss, stepsister of Anne Frank, who drew 1,300 people
• Children’s Model Matzah Bakery and Olive Oil Workshops
• Kabbalah Symposium
• Jewish Film Festival
• Lag B’Omer BBQ
• Joanne Caras, the Holocaust Survivors Cookbook, benefited a soup kitchen in Israel

One of our primary focuses next year will be a new program, The Relationship Cure between Parent and Child, which is backed by the U.S. Department of Justice. We have engaged a leading psychologist to develop the curriculum, which offers a program for parents to help their children reach their maximum potential.
Without our friends’ support, these and many of our ongoing programs would not be possible. Will you consider renewing your partnership based on last year’s pledge or making a first-time contribution? Red to Black!
All donations are deeply appreciated. Monthly pledges are especially helpful as they aid in planning a budget for the year. Or if you would consider a contribution of a car, a boat, land or appreciated stock, please call our office for details.
As we close out the books on 2013, we are still slightly in the red. Friends like you can help us start the new year in the black.
