The Riverside Mikvah - A Spa for the Soul
The Mikvah is a most precious and beautiful Mitzvah, the cornerstone ritual of Jewish family and communal life. The pristine, fully modern Mikvah combines elegant beauty with innate spirituality, allowing for an experience that is relaxing, rejuvenating, and uplifting.
In the eyes of Jewish law, one cannot attain the status of a Jewish community without a mikvah, because a Mikvah is a critical part of the foundation of Jewish life and the continuity of Jewish people.
Jewish law mandates that if a community doesn't have the funds to build a mikvah, they are required to sell their synagogue and even a Torah Scroll in order to raise the necessary funds. That is how important a mikvah is for Jewish life.
The word mikveh literally means “collection.” It refers to a gathering of water from a natural source, untouched by human fingerprints. When one immerses in the mikvah, one’s body is sensitized to a higher level of holiness and spiritual rejuvenation.

Mikvah in Jewish History
The Jews of Masada defending themselves against the Roman war machine for two years under dire circumstances, built some 20-plus Mikvaot for the Masada residents to immerse therein! Our great-grandmothers in Eastern Europe broke through the ice to immerse in its waters. The “well of Miriam” served as a mikvah in the dessert.
Riverside Mikvah
On Lag Baomer - May 13th, 2023, in Riverside, California, we made history by breaking ground for the first Mikvah in Inland SoCal.
Thank G‑d the construction is in full swing and progressing very well. Our community has been very fortunate to have been awarded a very generous grant from Mikvah USA, an organization dedicated to assisting communities to build mikvahs. We are also looking for your partnership. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, which is sure to bring blessings to you and yours. Every donor and every donation is greatly appreciated. With Hashem's help and your partnership, our plan is to hold the grand opening by December of this year.
The Experience
Our Mikvah is designed to provide Jewish women in the Inland SoCal with a pampering and invigorating mikvah experience. The Welcome Lounge, the spacious preparation rooms, the multi-directional shower and jacuzzi bathtub, the soft music, and the radiant floor heating are all part of the experience. The Mikvah is a pristine miniature pool of warm water. Upon immersing, one recites a special blessing and can pray for oneself and for all one's loved ones.
May Hashem bless our efforts so that we can have our own community mikvah and may we all witness the incredible blessings that Hashem will shower upon us (pun intended) through this beautiful mikvah.
